Today’s post will appeal to photographers and I will show you the setup of the photos in this post, using the Canon 580EX II’s Multi mode.
Equipment Used:
- Light stand with reflector holder
- Black background, or black foam core board
- One 580EX II flash act as a slave, on a boom light stand
- One 580EX II flash act as a master or Canon ST-E2 (the triggering device)
- Sturdy Tripod
Lighting Diagram (because a picture is worth a thousand word):

- Canon 5D Mark II, on tripod. Set to Manual mode: 1 sec shutter speed at aperture 7.1
- Slave 580EX II, on boom arm stand overhead of subject. Set to lowest flash power output (1/128), at 10 flashes and 10hz
- Another 580EX II on camera act as Master trigger unit. Set to not fire flash.
- Black foam core board, on reflector stand
